This is a highly visible event which will be escorted by Jonny Laws watchful eye, please act accordingly!
- The Urban Iditarod is held in any weather condition; prepare your sleds and dogs appropriately.
- Dogs must be tied to sled when running and entire team must finish together. No stray dogs.
- Teams are responsible for bringing their own shopping carts. Please return shopping carts after the event. DO NOT LEAVE CARTS ANYWHERE ALONG THE COURSE! (Yes I am yelling)
- Dogs must pull the cart dog sled style.
- Teams are responsible for their own cart and hitching systems.
- Teams have 1 hour to complete each leg and refresh their team.
- During the event keep your team on the sidewalks and observe traffic signals.
- Bring your ID, if you do not have it, you may not be served that the Check Points.
- When quenching thirst at rest stops, keep alcoholic beverages inside or be seated outside in the appropriate areas.
- You may rotate dogs & mushers during the race.
- Barking is required, ass sniffing is encouraged.
- It is the musher's responsibility to ensure the dogs are well watered.
- Drink within your limits. Check Points will not serve anyone that they feel is drunk.
- Bring cash for the Check Points it is much quicker and easier then credit. Also remember to take care of the bartender.
- Dogs may run free in the rest areas.
- Leave your four legged furry pets at home, the Urban Iditarod is for two-legged dogs only!
- The course start will be given out at the team captain meeting on Friday, February 24.
